How to read the map

Colour shows the leading model. Grey means the top two are less than one point apart. Tap anywhere for scores out of 100; tap a dot for an airport or weather station.

The world grid uses observation-fed model analysis. Station temperature and wind use observations where available (usually METAR at airports); rain and sun use analysis. Different reference data can produce different winners.

Grid popups show the best two models, rounded from the map's stored scores. Station popups show the top four. Blend is shown separately because it combines the models being ranked.

Scores combine forecast lead times. Models with thin history are held out of the grid; straight regional edges can reflect a change in the verifying analysis. The legend measures area in the current view.
